The Fiscal Policy Office requests a Weekly Regional Economic Situation Report as of August 20, 2021 as follows:
1. The number of newly registered trucks in July 2021 increased by 18.9% year-on-year.
2. Factories that began operations in July 2021 had an investment value of 5,004 million baht, with significant capital in the Eastern and Northeastern regions.

The private investment economy is reflected in the growth of newly registered trucks across all regions, particularly in Bangkok and its vicinity, the Southern region, and the Northeastern region, while factories that started operations had high capital investment in the Eastern and Northeastern regions.

  • The number of newly registered trucks in July 2021 was 6,248 units, growing at 18.9% year-on-year compared to the previous month (and when seasonally adjusted, it contracted by -13.24% month-on-month). The details are as follows:
    1) Bangkok and its vicinity grew by 28.2% year-on-year, with strong growth in Bangkok and Samut Prakan.
    2) The Southern region grew by 20.9% year-on-year, with strong growth in Satun, Krabi, Narathiwat, and Trang.
    3) The Northeastern region grew by 20.6% year-on-year, with strong growth in Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Loei, and Khon Kaen.
    4) The Central region grew by 18.7% year-on-year, with good growth in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, and Chai Nat.
    5) The Northern region grew by 13.8% year-on-year, with notable growth in Lampang, Chiang Rai, Phitsanulok, and Sukhothai.
    6) The Eastern region grew by 11.0% year-on-year, with growth in Prachinburi, Chonburi, and Rayong.
    7) The Western region grew by 5.0% year-on-year, with growth in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Kanchanaburi, and Samut Songkhram.
  • The capital of factories that began operations in July 2021 was valued at 5,004 million baht, with investments distributed across several regions, particularly:
    1) The Eastern region had a high capital value of 1,692.95 million baht, with investments in Chonburi amounting to 938.76 million baht, including capital for furniture manufacturing and wood products, such as processed wood flooring amounting to 280 million baht, and capital for solar panel repair and installation outside the factory amounting to 129 million baht.
    2) The Northeastern region had a capital value of 1,083.32 million baht, with investments in Si Sa Ket amounting to 517.60 million baht, primarily for asphaltic concrete production, and investments in Khon Kaen amounting to 367.50 million baht, mainly for machining, drilling, and milling of machine parts or general metal welding amounting to 345 million baht.
